Robert De Niro isn’t holding back when it comes to Donald Trump — the veteran actor wants to “punch” the U.S. Republican presidential nominee “in the face.”
In a one-minute video released Friday, De Niro calls the businessman-turned-politician a “mutt who doesn’t know what he’s talking about, doesn’t do his homework” and “doesn’t care.”
“He’s so blatantly stupid, he’s a punk, he’s a dog, he’s a pig, he’s a con,” De Niro said to camera on the black-and-white video. “It makes me so angry that this country has gotten to this point that this bozo, this fool, has wound up where he has.”
The video, which first aired on Fox News’ The Kelly File is an outtake from a celebrity public service announcement encouraging American voters to register for the Nov. 8 election.
“He talks about how he wants to punch people in the face,” the Oscar winner said about Trump. “Well, I’d like to punch him in the face.”
The final version of the PSA, which includes De Niro, Kendall Jenner, Anne Hathaway, Leonardo DiCaprio, Julia Roberts and other recognizable faces, is a non-partisan message by Anonymous Content and part of an initiative called #VoteYourFuture.
It’s the not first time De Niro has gone off script when it comes to his feelings about Trump. The Taxi Driver and Godfather actor was also vocal about his political stance at the Sarajevo Film Festival last month.
“What he has been saying is totally crazy, ridiculous … he is totally nuts,” De Niro said about Trump during a question and answer session at the event.
While De Niro’s latest remarks surfaced following the controversial comments made by Trump in 2005 about groping women, the actor’s rant was filmed beforehand.
“What I care about is the direction of this country,” De Niro said near the end of the video. “And what I’m very, very worried about is that it might go in the wrong direction with someone like Donald Trump.”
